My 2019 Recap - Onwards 2020!
2019 is almost a wrap and 2019 has been a wonderful year! Like FaceBook’s Year in Review or Spotify’s Your Top Songs 2019, time for a recap divided in a few categories. Looking forward to 2020 and thanks everyone for all the support. Looking forward to re-connecting in the new year!
Personal
My sister moved in with me this year. If you know her, she had a few medical setbacks starting in 2016 lasting for a few years. After a lot of perseverance and seeing my youngest nephew enter university, she packed up from Jacksonville and relocated to her home town of ATL.
Kofi my Siberian Husky turned two this year. He sure does grow up fast. Huskies are a wonky breed and could not imagine him not being around.
Great that Tessa and I got to spend a lot more time this year together. We both do about the same thing for work and travel all over the place. Though we made sure to reserve time to visit each other and if the opportunity was there to overlap trips.
2019 was the first year fully that I went to the gym regularly. I started this back in 2018 but was injured for a few months at the start so I couldn’t go as intensely. Exercise is great mentally and physically. I certainly have more energy and don’t feel like taking a nap all day anymore vs prior years.
Travel
I racked up a lot of travel in 2019. I re-made Delta Diamond Status and Bonvoy Ambassador Status [Lifetime Titanium].
To go with all those airline miles, spend a lot of nights in hotels. Though a few stays are not on there. I gave IHG a go for a few weeks at the start of the year and did not work out well for me. Also when staying with Tessa her chain is Hilton so not reflected here.
Let’s take a look at some destinations in 2019:
All over the place. Spent time in three continents this year certainly a record for me ha!
Professional
In the middle of the year I jumped back into the startup game again. I left my first evangelist job at AppDynamics and headed to Continuous Delivery vendor Harness.io. Was not an easy decision but the opportunity was too good to pass up. Couldn’t be happier as we are redefining that CD means.
At Harness I certainly have a lot more responsibility and have been producing a lot of “evangelist” things. Take a look at my professional page, certainly has grown.
Onwards 2020
Well that is mostly a wrap for 2019 for me. A few more weeks of work around the holidays. Will be headed with my GT Roomies, GF, and Sister to Los Angeles to celebrate NYE. Never left LAX airport so excited to see what SoCal is all about.
Hope everyone has a great remainder for 2019 and onwards 2020!
Cheers,
-Ravi
