Summer 2025 Update - Georgia Heat
Been a while since I posted an update. That was back in March 2025 and turned 40. A quarter and change has gone by. Currently it is July 2025 and nothing like summertime in Hotlanta [yes I know that is a faux pas to say]. Let’s get you caught up!
The Catch-up, Mar 2025 - July 2025
Turned 40 back in March 2025. Was a great few weeks with the trip to New Zealand then the Engineering Alumn Awards at Georgia Tech. Had a few groups of close friends in, was amazing. Work and personal travel has been lighter this year that in years gone by. Was able to to get a few destinations in. Customary trips to the pair of Washington’s to visit friends; The greater Washington DC Area and Seattle, WA. Picked up my first Android Device [imagine that, back to green texts], a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Really digging the Android Auto over Apple Carplay for now.
Some great family and friends as always. Parents are getting older, a natural progression of time. Fortunate to get to hang out with them for their milestones as there are less of those remaining instead of more of those remaining. Lots of good eats also around town. A Frozen Custard place finally opened up where I live in Metro ATL. Also, this year the pollen as the worst on record with the highest pollen count ever recorded.
Hit the third anniversary of my house. Some improvements and maintenance around the house. Got some stone installed on the side of my house where the grass keeps washing away; already replaced the sod once in the three years I lived here. Got an electric car charger installed in the garage. Prepping for the future, next car will have some sort of plug. Even got my WiFi Mesh at home upgraded to WiFi 7. Like always, photo montage to catch you up visually also.
St. Simons Island
I keep forgetting that Georgia has a coast. I have been to Singapore several times, but only been to Georgia’s Coast one time before 2025. A pair of friends of mine rented a house for a week in May 2025 and I got to spend a weekend down there. Totally a fan of Georgia’s Coast! About a five hour drive with traffic where I live, can get island / low-country vibes right here in Georgia. Loved SSI so much, went back for another weekend in June 2025. Hoping to get SSI into regular rotation now :-)
On the AI / ChatGPT Train
I finally started using ChatGPT and other AI Assistants more in my daily life. As of July 2025, I interact with one AI platform or another at least daily now. What pushed me over the edge was the Image Generation. The trend of the week was having AI draw action figures of yourself.
