Apr 4 Spring Time 2022 Update - Pollen Season

Spring is certainly in the air in the Greater Atlanta Area. Currently washing my car twice a week so it does not look like it drove through a yellow dust storm. The first quarter of 2022 has been a great one. Here is a recap on what has been going on.

The New Homestead

My new house is coming along pretty well. Decided to sell my current house a little early and move in with my parents so I would have all the funds in hand needing to close on the new spot. Certainly, a sellers market out there; my house received a few offers the first day it was listed and was under contract less than a week after being listed. Usually, in the ATL market, this is not the case e.g ATL is a “median” market in the United States.

Hopefully, by the next quarterly update, the house will be ready and excited to show off some finished pictures. Living with my parents has been great. Though for during the workday I have rented a temporary office for myself so I can concentrate during the work day. Commuting during the work week was lost on me since over the last decade had field-facing jobs / the ability to work remotely. I do enjoy some of the separations it creates having to drive in somewhere. Though can’t wait to work back from home.

The Werks

Really finding my grove at Shipa as the Field CTO. We have started to land our first initial set of paid customers and building off the momentum there. We are hyper-focused on developer experience [DX] and engineering efficiency. We are also currently trying to submit our open source project, Ketch, to the CNCF. Not sure if anyone has experience doing that but there is certainly a backlog of projects trying to get in. We submitted our project in November and updated our submission package with CNCF community feedback in February and still waiting for a decision.

The Personal

Can’t complain, been really fortunate during the pandemic not getting sick and able to continue to progress my career. The Kofi is well, he is getting older and more mellow. Adjusting to this “in-between” homes life [also grateful moved in with my parents in their swanky pad]. Stay tuned for the next update!
